The Staatliche Kunstsammlung Dresden graciously provided information for completing this description.
This work disapeared in WW II and no image thereof survived.
In his 1905 gallery catalogue, Karl Woermann described this work as follows (translation): "Lush forest landscape. On the right in the foreground and further back on the left, there are impressive groups of trees. In the lower left, behind the yellow sandy path, a rich river valley bounded by distant blue hills. In the foreground on the path, three riders, a dog, a woman with a child, and a beggar crouching on the ground."
